About the Artist
Sue Pink
grew up and attended school in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
After a career in education she pursued her interest in art
by taking classes first with local instructors, and later by
enrolling in workshops taught by leading national instructors.
Those workshops increased her interest in abstract art.
Working in the abstract manner has allowed her to emotionally
tie her work to the viewer. Sue begins each work with spontaneity and immediate content,
relating reflections of past experiences and acquaintances. Color and texture are major
elements in her work, along with her signature muted pallet. Her materials include both
watercolor and acrylic paint on 100% cotton rag paper. Recently she has been working on a series depicting ‘time.' The clocks vary from an analog pocket watch received from a great uncle to a modern binary clock that juxtaposes analog verses digital time; a reflection of
her background in computing. Sue is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, Southern
Watercolor Society, Florida Watercolor Society, Georgia Watercolor Society, Texas
Watercolor Society, Tallahassee Watercolor Society, elected to the Florida
Artist Group, and an associate member of the American Watercolor Society.
